Jumping the Broom is a 2011 American comedy film directed by Salim Akil and produced by Tracey E. Edmonds, Elizabeth Hunter, T.D. Jakes, Glendon Palmer, and Curtis Wallace.
The title of the film is derived from the African American tradition of bride and groom jumping over a ceremonial broom after being married.
TriStar Pictures distributed the film in the United States on May 6, 2011.
SUMMARY:
Plot/Sypnosis
The plot is about two African-American families who live on opposite sides of the social circle and have to get together for a marriage in the town of Chilmark on the island of Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts [3], where a member of each of the families will be wed together.
